Synergy Name Changes & Reformulations- An Inside Look

Plant Therapy essential oil diffuser

An Inside Look

You might have noticed that several Plant Therapy products have undergone name changes. For instance, the synergy formerly called Ban The Bugs is now called Shield Me. And our synergy that used to be known as Headache Relief is now Tension Relief.

Why all the changes?

We are committed to transparency and quality in everything that we do. Because of that commitment, we are proactively taking steps to ensure that the marketing of our products — including their names — are in compliance with all government regulations. While we have had no problems so far, we are aware that with the increasing popularity of essential oils, government agencies are taking a closer look at our industry. Therefore, we’ve decided to take the necessary steps to ensure there won’t be any disruption in product availability or any increase in prices due to compliance issues down the road.

What are the regulations?

It is the job of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to regulate drugs. Any product that claims to treat or prevent disease or affect the function or structure of the body can be classified as a drug. All drugs must receive FDA approval before they can be sold, which can be a long and expensive process.

To determine if a product is a drug or not, the FDA looks at its “intended use,” which often involves how the product is marketed. While we are passionate about the positive benefits essential oils can have, Plant Therapy is clear that our products are not drugs.

You might have heard that several essential oil companies received letters from the FDA warning them about making health claims while marketing their products, which would classify them as drugs under the law. We want our customers to know that Plant Therapy has not received such a letter, nor has the FDA been in touch with us regarding our marketing practices or product names. Because of this, it is in the best interests of our company and our customers for us to proactively take steps now to ensure that we remain 100%, without-a-doubt in compliance with the FDA rules.

What’s next?

We’ve already changed the names of several products, and more name changes are in the works. If you can’t find your favorite product on our website or have any questions, please contact us!

Synergy Reformulations

Plant Therapy wants to provide our customers with the best synergies possible. So we, along with Robert Tisserand, reviewed our synergies to determine which ones could be improved upon. It’s that simple! Here’s a list of the synergies we reformulated:

Anti Age, Balance, Clear Again, Bouquet, Brain Aid, Derma-Shield, Deodorizing, Energy, Munchy Stop, Self Esteem, Soft Skin, Tension Relief, and Zit Fighter.

This statement has not be evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. Plant Therapy and its representatives are not intending to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
