Navigating Mercury retrograde can be difficult in the best of times, but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. A great place to start is with our new Mercury Retrograde blend. It was created to encourage normal communication and to help create a peaceful, grounded environment during this chaotic time. With this incredible blend by your side and a few of our top do’s and don’ts, you can make it through Mercury retrograde in one piece.
Mercury retrograde do’s and try-not-to do’s.
Do’s:
DO pause and breathe before speaking. (Repeat yourself if necessary!)
DO confirm all dates, plans, meetings, appointments. Leave early for any travel and appointments, since Mercury retrograde can delay flights and make travel difficult. While you’re at it, get your cars tuned up, and make sure you have an emergency roadside kit handy just in case.
Technology can get crazy! DO back up your digital data (photos, contact lists, files) before the retrograde or ASAP if it’s started. Insure/track important mail and packages (Mercury rules the postal system).
DO renew your commitments instead of making new ones: Plan reunions with old friends & loved ones (but prepare for possible mishaps!). Expect to hear from/run into people from your past at the weirdest moments. Practice forgiveness. Finish processing what’s unresolved so you can let it go.
DO a final review of any contracts or legal documents before you sign them and read all emails and documents before you send them.
And last but not least, DO get sentimental. Spend time reminiscing and reliving old memories, good and bad. Let the past help guide you through this difficult time.
Don’ts:
DON’T overshare on social media. With communication at an all-time level of crazy, now is the time when someone is most likely to misunderstand you or take offense, especially in these charged political times.
DON’T rekindle an old romance. Now isn’t the time to run back to an ex. Mercury romantic reunions aren’t always meant to last, and often the point is to achieve closure.
Now is not the time to buy new electronics, because Mercury retrograde can especially effect technology. DON’T buy a new car, a new phone or a new laptop. Put off those purchases until after Mercury retrograde or make sure you have a killer return policy!
DON’T put anything in writing you don’t want to get out! Accidentally hitting ‘reply all’ or sending something private to a group messenger chat is a Mercury retrograde classic.
DON’T sign any new leases, contracts or make any big deals. Try your best to put these off until after Mercury retrograde.
If someone from your past comes around (which is totally possible during Mercury retrograde) DON’T lead people on, give them false hope or give mixed signals. Since communication is crazy during Mercury retrograde, make sure you’re clear about your intentions or feelings.
DON’T leave late for flights or appointments. Just don’t. In my last post, I shared my own horror story about missing a flight during Mercury retrograde…it was a nightmare.
DON’T start anything new on before finishing what’s already on your to-do list. Be careful to triple-check everything you do at work, don’t cut corners or make hasty career decisions.
And remember, Mercury being in Retrograde doesn’t mean things have to be all bad! Use this time to grow and reflect on your past, to improve your future.
