Product Description

Peppermint Hydrosol comes from the freshly distilled aerial parts of the Mentha x piperita plant. Its familiar minty aroma has slightly deep, earthy notes, giving it a different aroma than Peppermint Essential Oil. Prized for its cooling properties, this hydrosol helps instantly revitalize the mind and body, helping you to feel alert and focused. It is often used for sore, tense muscles and the aches and pains that can follow a strenuous day or tough workout. This invigorating hydrosol is also excellent for foot balms, a relaxing foot bath, or a cooling foot spray that will leave your feet feeling refreshed after a long day.

Hydrosols are the aromatic remains following a plant’s steam distillation process. They consist entirely of cellular botanical water, which includes unique water-loving (hydrophilic) compounds that provide each hydrosol with distinct characteristics and benefits. While sharing many commonalities with their essential oil counterpart, their molecular makeup is unique enough that hydrosols often have very different aromatic profiles compared to the oil.

Made from 100% naturally-derived ingredients, this product includes 98% organic Peppermint hydrosol. To ensure the safety of this product and prevent microbial growth, 2% preservative is added (Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate & Water).

How to Use

To help calm irritated or itchy skin, spray the hydrosol directly onto the area(s) of concern or soak a cotton round or clean cloth in the hydrosol and apply where needed. The cooling properties also offer relief to sore, achy muscles.

Remove makeup or clean skin by first massaging your favorite carrier oil gently onto your face. Add the hydrosol to a cotton round and wipe away the oil, makeup, and other impurities, while helping to refresh and tone.

Spray into air or onto self to enjoy the refreshing, awakening aroma.

Hydrosols are often used in creating body and bath products, room sprays, and linen mists. They are also popular for use in other herbal preparations.

Reviews

Cooling

"Love all hydrosols for different reasons. Peppermint is great to help me cool off when working outside in heat and sun…also helps keep bugs away."

Carol M. (5/5)

Cool down!

"Love this stuff. Mad I waited so long to get. Nice cool down in Florida humidity. Just hate it has to be refrigerated."

Amber (5/5)

Stinky Feet

"So disappointed. This smells like dirty feet when I spray it. Zero hints of peppermint. I love to use hydrosols as a “body spray” and always get compliments when I wear the Rose spray. The Rose is quite refreshing, and feels good on my skin. The Peppermint one is almost sticky and smells terrible. Maybe I just got a bad bottle."

Tori S. (1/5)

recently rediscovered fave

"My favorite of the PT hydrosols I've used so far. Very brisk and airy and refreshingly sweet, not tingly or stingy now that I've finally given up trying to make retinol work. Hundredth time was not the charm."

jen (5/5)

Peppermintastic!

"Fresh, minty and refreshing scent! Helps boost my mood and body."

Wendy B. (5/5)

Cooling

"I use this on my face during summer months to cool. I live in southeast (hot and humid). I like the initial scent and tingle on my face. However (and this I have found to be true for most hydrosols), the effect only lasts a couple of seconds. Perhaps there is a more beneficial use of which I don’t know. That is why I am recommending the product."

Deborah P. (4/5)

Works and smells ok

"Have been using this on my son's itchy eczema spots and my itchy mosquito bites. It works OK. Doesn't completely take the itch away but helps lessen it. It smells like christmas."

Danielle K. (5/5)

great

"sooooo exhilarating! love it"

"amazing scent! so refreshing"

a mist for all seasons

"A solid pick for the current heat and humidity, with its contrary coolness, but I can also see this complimenting the crisp fall, chilly winter, or rainy spring. Mint is my favorite EO because it's so versatile, both in fragrance and in function."
