Cold Pressed

Aromatic Scent:

Tamanu Madagascar Carrier Oil has a rich, soft nutty scent with a slight sweet note.

Product should be heated in a warm water bath in order to liquefy.

Cautions:

Persons with nut allergy should not use this oil.

Tamanu Carrier Oil is cold pressed from the fruit of the Calophyllum inophyllum tree. Although there are several areas where this tree is produced, this particular Tamanu Carrier Oil originates from Madagascar. The fruit (seeds) are hand gathered from the coastal Tamanu Trees, as they are said to yield the highest quality oil. This remarkable, glistening greenish-brown oil is a must have for skin issues. Tamanu is rich and thick and absorbs into the skin luxuriously and slowly. It is best used within a blend with other carriers, because of its viscosity.

Tamanu can help reduce and relieve reddened, irritated, skin prone to blemishes, and offer relief from pesky outdoor bug bites; soothing and repairing as it is applied. Using Tamanu Carrier Oil can help reduce the appearance of scars and marks caused from weight gain or pregnancy. Tamanu is gentle, effective, and promotes restoration and healthy skin growth, which will leave the skin soft and feeling better than new.

To help reduce the appearance of scars, combine Tamanu Carrier Oil with Plant Therapy’s Skin Restore at a 5% dilution and apply to the area daily. Apply Tamanu at 100% to reddened, irritated, or small bites from pesky outdoor insects to help soothe and relieve. A small amount can be used on the face after it is cleaned to moisturize, reduce and relieve blemishes, keeping the face fresh, toned, and even.
Users can expect a shelf life of 2 years with proper storage conditions. It is recommended that cold-pressed carrier oils be kept in a cool dark place to maintain freshness and achieve maximum shelf life. Refrigeration is best. Bring to room temperature before using.

5.0 5  Great oil!

I made a serum with this to use at night. It does have a strong scent but I don’t mind it and the scent does t hang around long. I like the way it makes my skin feel.

5.0 5  Fantastic!

I love PT's tamanu oil! I bought it for my daughter who is expecting her first child to help with stretch marks. Then I came down with shingles and used it as a base for a blend I made to help with pain and itchiness. It was fantastic! Really dialed down the discomfort level and I believe helped the rash heal quicker. Yes it's a bit pricey, but I always mix it with another carrier oil anyway due to its thickness, so for how well it works and the fact that it lasts longer when mixed with other carrier oils, it's a must have for me.

Read a lot about the benefits of this carrier oil for healing. I use it nightly on my face and mixed with any essential oil for extra benefits

5.0 5  Excellent results on my irritated skin

This oil has a strong scent - not unpleasant, but it definitely will take over the scent of your blend. If you want to smell your EO's be sure to dilute the Tamanu with another carrier oil. This is simply the nature of Tamanu oil. It is a very good oil to use in healing balms. I have had excellent success soothing a 'hot spot' on my chest using Tamanu blended with come camellia oil that I had on hand. I added Skin Restore to this and it has really helped reduce the itching and help smooth the dry, scaly patch. I'm very satisfied and will purchase again!

5.0 5  Perfect for scars!

I bought this after I read that it works well with scars. I use this along with other oils and it helped hydrate my skin. Put this in a roll-on bottle for spot-on treatments!
