Q&A

Could you please define the difference between Extra & Complete?: Throughout the distillation process for Ylang Ylang, the different distillations (i.e. extra, 1, 2, 3, and complete) are fractioned off during different time periods. Ylang Ylang extra is fractionated off within the first 1-2 hours of the distillation process. Since it is fractioned off so early it produces an oil with an excellent and well rounded scent that is commonly used for perfumery or fragrance. However, this oil may not have all of the chemical constituents that Ylang Ylang Complete would have. This is because Ylang Ylang Complete is a complete and uninterrupted distillation process that can take 12-18 hours. Due to the complete distillation process, the Ylang Ylang complete will have more therapeutic benefits than the Extra. They both will have a strong scent, but the Extra is more refined and intense.
