Peru Balsam Product Sheet

Peru Balsam originates from El Salvador and is extracted using steam distillation  from the balsam of the Myroxylon balsamum tree. Peru Balsam has a sweet, vanilla-like aroma with a subtle hint of cinnamon. This wonderful aroma helps soothe out-of-control emotions, calms nervous tension, and can promote a tranquil environment. It can be used during times of respiratory congestion to help you breathe easier.

The main constituent of Peru Balsam is Benzoic Acid, which is well-known for it's abilities to keep minor scrapes and skin issues “clean”. It can help with dry or rough, reddened skin. Add it to your favorite body care products for a wonderful, natural perfume that is pleasing to the senses!

Place 3 drops of Peru Balsam and 3 drops of Orange Sweet in your AromaFuse Diffuser to promote a calm environment.

Add to body wash, lotion, body cream, or shampoo for a great perfume fragrance. We recommend a maximum dilution of 0.4%.

5.0 5  Vanilla Marshmallow

I absolutely love this one. It smells like a vanilla marshmallow with a hint of coconut and smokiness to my nose. Of course nothing can replace the divine scent of true vanilla, but Peru Balsam is a great cost effective substitute. I use this one very often in my diffuser blends for sleep. It mixes beautifully with orange and sandalwood.

5.0 5  Sweet and calming

I tried this oil in my diffuser with sweet orange and a little amryis. It smelled wonderful, sweet, vanilla, and a little wood. A very calming oil. My husband absolutely loved it and I will be adding it to my usual oils.

3.0 5  Not My Favorite

The smell of this is ok but I get a headache every time I diffuse it (doesn\'t matter what blend I add it to). So far it\'s the only oil that causes that reaction.

recommend  No, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend.

5.0 5  Unique!

I didn\'t quite know what to expect with Peru Balsam, but it sounded very interesting and seemed like it would be a nice edition to my perfume blends. My first thought when opening the bottle was: \"Wow! Vanilla extract!\" On the second sniff, it wasn\'t so much vanilla extract but French Vanilla ice cream! And I can\'t get that impression out of my head; to me it smells like vanilla ice cream! Which is very yummy, but I haven\'t quite made up my mind about it in fragrance blends....they all smell like dessert to me! I think this one may be for diffusing more than for perfume. I\'m still going to experiment with different blends though. Don\'t get me wrong, it smells delightful, and definitely very vanilla-like. But not quite a substitute for real vanilla in blends. I don\'t regret the purchase and am excited about finding just the right combination of oils to complement it. It\'s a very unexpected, and pleasant oil.
