Patchouli became famous during the 1960s in the United States as a favorite scent of young counter-culture people, but it has been used as a scent in Asia for centuries. It is best known for its skin care applications. When added to a carrier oil, it can help with the appearance of skin wrinkles, scars, and skin blemishes and it’s a wonderful addition to a man’s deodorant formula. When diffused, Patchouli can help alleviate nervous tension and worry and is a soothing oil to diffuse during meditation.
Focus your mind during meditation by diffusing 1 drop of patchouli with 1 drop of sweet basil. Patchouli is very useful as part of a blend to combat shoe and foot odor. Fill an old tube sock with baking soda; add lemon and patchouli oils to baking soda and tuck sock into the shoe; leave for 12-24 hrs.
The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.

5.0 5  A new opinion of patchouli

I have to admit... I was one of those who just hated the scent of patchouli. I always have. I bought this oil, primarily for diffusion, thinking I\'d just add a drop here or a drop there mixed with other oils (so many fall specific diffuser blend recipes call for this one!). Fast forward a month later, and its is one of my Go-To faves. It really gives a depth to any scent blend, it is super long lasting, and I personally find it to be a comforting scent. I am really enjoy it!

4.0 5  Good, strong scent.

I\'d never smelled patchouli before ordering this, and I have to say that I like it. The scent *is* strong, though, so really ONE drop is all you need--a little goes a long way. That being said, I took off a star because my bottle\'s dropper came with a super big hole in the reducer, so the first time I tilted it to get a drop out, it just POURED into my diffuser! I didn\'t use this for the longest time because I would always, always, ALWAYS get too much from the reducer. :(

I mix patchouli with vetiver and put it into my husbands shampoo and body lotion. He loves the mix. It is very masculine.

5.0 5  Nice and earthy

I know some have a love/hate relationship with Patchouli, but it\'s one of my favorite for diffusing. Just a couple of drops is all you need.
