Bergamot Mint Product Sheet

Bergamot Mint Essential Oil originates from the United States and is extracted using steam distillation from the flowering tops of the perennial flowering Bergamot Mint plant. Bergamot Mint is not a well-known oil, but once you experience its incredible properties, it is sure to be an oil you will not forget.  Bergamot Mint has a light citrusy, fruity aroma with a hint of mint and is reminiscent of Lavender. This refreshing aroma can provide emotional support, calm the mind, and help renew the spirit. The soft minty scent can provide the boost you need to feel awake and ready to go. Bergamot Mint is a great addition to beauty and bath products and can be helpful during turbulent times during a woman’s cycle.

The main constituents are Linalool and Linalyl Acetate, which is well-known for it's uplifting and calming properties.  The chemical makeup of Bergamot Mint crosses between Lavender and Bergamot, with a hint of mint. It is safer than other mint oils, and unlike Bergamot, it is not phototoxic. Due to its high Linalool content, it is calming, yet not sedating, and can carry you away from everyday worries. It can help with body discomfort, occasional digestive upset, and support a healthy immune system. When musty or unpleasant smells abound, Bergamot Mint can offer a refreshing, clean scent. This wonderful oil is packed with beneficial properties that is a must have in every oil collection.

For a heavenly serenity bath blend, mix 3 drops of Bergamot Mint and 1 drop each of Mandarin and Sandalwood with 1 tbsp of fragrance-free shampoo. Add 1 cup of Epsom salt and one half cup of full fat crème (optional) to a bath once the water has run and soak your worries away.

To calm an upset tummy mix together 3 drops of Bergamot Mint, 2 drops of Bergamot, and 2 drops of Spearmint with 2 tsps of your favorite Plant Therapycarrier oil and rub on the tummy in a clockwise motion.

5.0 5  Calming minty oil!

I don't like peppermint or spearmint, so this one is perfect. It is a slight minty Bergamot scent. It is a great substitute for people that have an opposite reaction of Lavender. I use it in sleeping blends with other calming oils. It dries out smelling like a hint of Spearmint.

5.0 5  A New Favorite

Bergamot Mint is one of my 'must have' oils. It has a very calming effect on the nervous system and I love the way it lifts my spirits while not making me drowsy. This makes it great for pick-me-ups throughout the day. I make a blend of equal amounts of bergamot mint, bergamot and peppermint. The scent is lovely too - for me I get a hint of mint along with the subtle scent of citrus. Just an all around great oil for calming, grounding and centering.

5.0 5  I think I've found "The One"

I'm a beginner using essential oils. I started trying different oils that are known to help ease mental health issues and found that I am actually very picky when it comes to scent. I don't care much for Bulgarian lavender. FINALLY, I've found a soothing oil that also smells wonderful. The description accurately describes the scent: "a light citrusy, fruity aroma with a hint of mint." While it is somewhat reminiscent of lavender, as the description states, it is much lighter and the "hint of mint" is refreshing. It's a very soft fragrance. Not at all pungent. It's hard to explain why but, beyond the chemical properties of the oil, the scent itself is calming. It's not as bright as citrus oils and not as chilling as mint oils tend to be. I like to put a drop on the edge of my pillow and inhale it as I fall asleep. I also put a drop on my collar so I can sniff it during the day (I need to get a diffuser necklace lol). By the evening, the scent fades, somewhat, but it is still there.
