Saro Essential Oil Product Sheet

Saro is a small aromatic evergreen tree that originates from the Northwestern coast of Madagascar. Saro is often found in tropophyte forests, close to the water or in rocky, shady areas. Light yellow in color, Saro Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the Saro tree during the rainy season. Although the aroma of Saro is similar to other medicinal oils such as Tea Tree, it gives off a citrus hint giving this oil a light and invigorating scent.

Due to its high content of 1,8-cineole, Saro is a perfect solution to ward off germs found in everyday life and is useful for healing purposes. Saro's local name is "Mandravasarotra," which translates to "which keeps bad things away." In line with this translation, the oil is still used today to boost immunities by keeping germs at bay. Saro can also be used for irritation or tenderness when blended with other oils to be used for a variety of common ailments such as irritated skin or muscle soreness caused from every day use.

This all around versatile oil is excellent for a variety of purposes that are helpful to the mind, body, and soul. The medium to strong scent will not only invigorate the senses, but uplift and revitalize the soul, helping to stave off worry and feeling down. It can be used to support respiratory health when being diffused or inhaled.

For respiratory health support, use Saro to create a steam facial bath, a respiratory blend, or diffuse into the air. Add one drop of Saro to hot water (not boiling) in a bowl; drape a towel over the head, close your eyes, relax, and breathe in for a few minutes. A respiratory blend can also be made by combining two drops of Saro with two drops of Lavender and two teaspoons of a carrier oil; apply to the chest, neck, or back area to relieve respiratory tightness.

It can also be used in the diffuser to help with breathing while suffering from respiratory concerns. Diffusing it throughout the day can also be invigorating to the senses that can reduce worry and feeling down.

The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.

This is such an unknown oil that has become a necessity in my house. It is great for cold and congestion and has a very nice scent. I use it any time my kids or I have a cold. I mix it up with RespirAid and alternate between them. I love this oil.

5.0 5  I love it

I used Saro in the diffuser for the past couple of weeks to help to ward off the ickies that come through the door with those that have been ill. Keeping my family, friends, and clients well is of high priority and this is a nice one when Tea Tree is just a bit too much. Thank you Plant Therapy! Shari

I love this as an alternative to eucalyptus. My husband was stuffed up when I got it and it was really nice to have something different to diffuse.
