Peppermint Western U.S. is regarded as higher quality than non-U.S. Peppermints because it has a smoother, more refined odor. This is due to several minor constituents being at slightly different levels. Peppermint Western U.S. has a higher menthol content (desirable, as this is the main therapeutic constituent) and a lower pulegone content (also desirable, as this is a less pleasant constituent).

Peppermint is stimulating, and when diffused can help uplift the spirit and enhance alertness. I t can also relieve the discomfort of an upset tummy, and support healthy digestive and respiratory systems.

Because of its higher menthol content, Peppermint has a cooling effect which can help when you are feeling under the weather and is also great for discomfort.

Add well-diluted to a carrier oil for an uplifting massage. Add a couple of drops of peppermint to some distilled water or witch hazel and shake well for a cooling spray during menopausal “power surges” (please avoid spraying around the eyes).

5.0 5  So refreshing

I love peppermint! It's such a refreshing and rejuvenating scent! Great for headaches and tense necks. I put some in a heating pad I made-the kind you stick in the microwave, along with Germ Destroyer and Eucalyptus, and used it when I was fighting a cold and swollen lymph nodes. Loved how it helped with that too! This is an excellent oil!

5.0 5  The best peppermint I've ever smelled

Oh, my goodness! I had never smelled American peppermint until now. This one smells so sweet and delicious, almost candy-like. Smells good enough to drink (keep far away from children, lol). Until I had the opportunity to purchase this version, I had only ever smelled Indian peppermint, which is beautiful and hebaceously minty, but American peppermint is so sweet and creamy, like the filling of a York peppermint patty! Highly recommended.

5.0 5  Western Peppermint

My initial inhalation was unpleasant, and I cannot tell you what it smelled like. However, subsequent inhalations were clearing and potent. The aroma lingers for a long time. I applied it to the sinus area about my brows and received significant relief from sinus pressure. I really like this oil and I will be switching to it.

5.0 5  strongly recommend

I never thought I would come to like peppermint essential oils until I discovered this. It smells pleasantly refreshing, but not overbearingly so. I've used peppermint oils of lesser quality that had an unbearable pungent smell, but from now on, this is the only oil I will buy.

2.0 5  Smells more earthy than peppermint

Just purchased a bottle of this in 30ml for myself and my parents. I just used up my starter 10ml and have become a peppermint addict. I use it for my bathrooms, floors, cleaners, window cleaners, carpet cleaning and diffuser blends. This western us peppermint is not the peppermint smell I have become addicted to. Being new to essential oils I had no idea there was more than 1 type of peppermint. This came up at the top of my search, the Latin matched so I ordered. If you are looking for the traditional smell of peppermint this is not the right oil.

recommend  No, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend.
