Peppermint Western U.S. is regarded as higher quality than non-U.S. Peppermints because it has a smoother, more refined odor. This is due to several minor constituents being at slightly different levels. Peppermint Western U.S. has a higher menthol content (desirable, as this is the main therapeutic constituent) and a lower pulegone content (also desirable, as this is a less pleasant constituent).
Peppermint is stimulating, and when diffused can help uplift the spirit and enhance alertness. It can also relieve the discomfort of an upset tummy, and support healthy digestive and respiratory systems. Because of its higher menthol content, Peppermint has a cooling effect which can help when you are feeling under the weather and is also great for discomfort. Add well-diluted to a carrier oil for an uplifting massage. Add a couple of drops of peppermint to some distilled water or witch hazel and shake well for a cooling spray during menopausal “power surges” (please avoid spraying around the eyes).

5.0 5  favorite

Peppermint western us is probably my favorite essential oil. I love the regular peppermint but this kind is on a level of it\'s own. It works very well for headaches and for muscle pain. It\'s menthol levels are high so it\'s numbing and feels cold when applied directly to skin. I would definitely recommend this oil.

5.0 5  Perfect for diffusing

I have been using 2 drops of U.S. Western Peppermint to 2 drops of Lemon and love the way they scent my house. I placed my diffuser is a spot on the house that gets lots of air movement and just 4 drops scents much of my house with a clean fresh scent. U.S. Western peppermint is described on the plant therepy webpage as having a preferable scent to Indian peppermint so based on that I chose the U.S. Western and have been pleased.

5.0 5  good smell, great smell for cleaning, variety of uses

Favorite use: 1 to 4 drops of peppermint with equal amounts of clove added to a homemade cleaner to disguise the vinegar smell. I\'ve used this in an allergy blend: peppermint, lavendar and lemon. That blend did not work as well as Benadryl, but it didn\'t give me a hang-over feeling the next day, like Benadryl. I like the smell. I know a mom that swears this oil helps with digestive issues when diluted and topically applied to the belly. I can\'t say it helped IBS symptoms (applied topically when pain was present, not used daily). I plan on mixing it with clove and diluting to see if it helps arthritis pain. And I just bought the organic one, so I can add a drop to my brownies! I\'ve only bought peppermint oil from Plant Therapy, so I cannot compare it to others.

5.0 5  My favorite scent

This is my favorite minty scent. It has chocolate mint notes. I bought the 100 ml bottle, since it is my most used oil. Use it for headaches, for feeling refreshed, for cooling off, for neutralizing other scents like when someone with strong cologne or perfume walks by at work and I feel like I\'m going to throw up,peppermibt comes to rescue.
