If used in excess, Nutmeg essential oil can cause toxic symptoms. We recommend a maximum dilution of 0.8% for topical applications.

Like many of the spice and herb oils, Nutmeg is very useful for the occasional queasy stomach and sluggish digestion. As a warming oil, it may be helpful in easing the achy joints which come from normal aging or wear and tear.
Add Nutmeg to a carrier oil and rub in clockwise circles on the abdomen. Add a couple drops to an ounce of milk or teaspoon of carrier oil, then add that mixture to a ½ cup of Epsom salts in a warm bath to help soothe away aches.
The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.

Bottles are filled by volume. Some bottle sizes may not be filled to the top, but do contain the volume of oil specified.

5.0 5  Great Oil

I initially purchased this oil to make my own seasonal blends. So far I have used it several times. I must admit, a little goes a long way with this particular oil as it is very strong. Overall I am very happy with it and all my oils from Plant Therapy.

4.0 5  Smells like fall

This oil smells like fall to me. I\'ve only diffused it so far, and only a little bit is needed. I can\'t wait to blend it with some other spicy oils for fall and winter!

3.0 5  Split the difference in stars...

I love nutmeg and use it all the time in the kitchen. I was hoping for a stronger aroma, but out of the bottle, I was still quite happy. As I always do with a new oil I put 3 drops in the diffuser to get a better sense of the oil and add more if needed. Nutmeg is potent and this purchase was a reminder. The aroma was not especially strong, but the effects were. Unfortunately for me, they were not pleasant. Some dizziness and stomach upset both times I tried diffusing it. It happens - some oils are just not going to agree with a person. As it has a low dilution ratio I am not sure how I am going to use it topically, or if it will have the same effect. \n\nSo, for now, Nutmeg is on the shelf and will probably be gifted to someone who doesn\'t react poorly with it. I think I will try Cardamom next as I work my way through my PT kitchen spice wish list. So, do purchase Nutmeg, this isn\'t meant to dissuade anyone. But, be aware/remember EOs are powerful.
