Because of its sweet, fresh scent, Mandarin is uplifting and can help soothe nervous tension and sadness when diffused. It is a main ingredient of one of our most popular children’s blends, Calming the Child.
Dilute 3 drops mandarin in 2 teaspoons of lotion or carrier oil and use after your child’s bath or when settling them in bed at night to relax before sleep. The combination of mother’s touch and the soothing blend should have your child zzzzzing before long.
The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.

4.0 5  scent is meh . . . but great for sleep!

Right out of the bottle - on a cotton ball or tissue - this smells sweet and fresh, just like peeling a mandarin orange. I expected it to smell equally nice in the diffuser, but to both me and my husband, when diffused it smells like wet dog. Fortunately, diffusing is not the only way to get its benefits for sleep. I add mostly mandarin, and a little bit of lavender and german chamomile, to a carrier oil and rub it on temples, wrists, and base of neck before bed, and I seem to sleep better. If I wake in the night, I put a little in my hands, cup them, and breathe . . . zzzzz.

1.0 5  Very light smelling

I've been hoping for a oil that really smells like a strong juicy citrus but haven't any luck. This doesn't mean this wasn't a wonderful oil to blend.

5.0 5  Merry Mandarin

Such a lovely soft citrus smell that is calming and uplifting. I use it in my diffuser mixed with a few other EO's for an easy night of peaceful sleep.

5.0 5  One of my favorite oils

I use mandarin in body butter and many calming rollerballer blends for friends and family. It is the perfect addition for both it's scent and sedating ability. PT's Madarin is a must have for my essential oil inventory.
