Product Details

Botanical Name:

Cocos nucifera

Extraction Method:

Heat Processed

Aromatic Scent:

Fractionated Coconut carrier oil has no scent.

Thinner than most carrier oils.

Although unlikely because of the heat processing, allergic reaction to this oil is a possibility. Check with your doctor if in doubt.

Fractionated Coconut Oil is not the same as virgin cold-pressed coconut oil that is solid at 76 degrees Fahrenheit and below. Fractionated oils have been heated to separate certain chains of fatty acids into separate components.

This process refines, clarifies, and deodorizes the oil. Fractionated Coconut Oil will always remain liquid regardless of temperature. Its abilities as an emollient and moisturizer are the same as virgin coconut oil.

Most familiar as the carrier oil used in rollerball bottle blends as it extends the life of the blend. Use at 100% strength.
Unlike most other carriers, Fractionated Coconut Oil is extremely resistant to rancidity. The shelf life is at least 2 years and is probably more under proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration is not needed.

Exceptional carrier oil! This has a light, silky feel and no odor. It absorbs quickly with no oily feel. I have been putting it on my face (combination, sensitive, acne prone) with a little frankincense, lavender population and helichrysum. The results have been impressive-healing acne and the marks it leaves behind, ultra smooth, hydrated skin. Also great for general use as a carrier oil. Switched from grape seed. This is less oily-feeling yet more hydrating. I may not use any other carrier oils after this! This is a competitive price. The only small con is that the bottle occasionally dribbles around the cap when I fill a bottle.

My preferred carrier oil, simply because it is not greasy at all and it absorbs so quickly. I have noticed, though, it can irritate dry, itchy skin and clog pores if used on the face. Otherwise, though, it\'s great.

FCO is our carrier oil of choice. Easy to use and perfect for diluting our own roller bottles.
