Davana Essential Oil Product Sheet

This yellow-brown essential oil is steam distilled from an herb native to southern India and has a potent, fruity odor. The leafy green plant, which grows 12-18 inches tall and sports tiny, puffy yellow flowers, is revered by the people of the area who use the flowers in religious or ceremonial offerings. The whole plant is distilled right before the flowers open.

Traditionally, Ayurvedic healers in India have long used the herb for all manner of women's reproductive issues, from helping to support regular menses to easing menopausal concerns. Davana can also assist with minor "sniffles" and people there often apply it to the skin when encountering life's minor "lumps and bumps." There is a popular folk belief that while Davana smells the same to everyone while in the bottle, it takes on a different individual fragrance of its own depending on who is wearing it.

In modern times, Davana is popular in perfumery to provide a fruity top-note and as a flavoring agent in bottled beverages and baked goods. Davana really shines when used for emotional concerns. When life really gets to us, it soothes the nerves, restores emotional calm, and is exceptional for quieting the mind.
To help restore depleted emotional reserves, diffuse 3 drops Frankincense Carteri, 2 drops Davana, and 1 drop Lavender.

For nervous tension and a racing mind, add 5 drops Davana, 4 drops Frankincense Carteri, and 3 drops Marjoram Sweet into an ounce of carrier oil or lotion. Massage into the chest and back of neck/shoulders for soothing relief.
The International Federation of Aromatherapists does not recommend that Essential Oils be taken internally unless under the supervision of a Medical Doctor who is also qualified in clinical Aromatherapy. All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.

This statement has not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

3.0 5  Davana

First sniff is good. Second sniff it has a weird "after" smell. Not sure if I will be using this although I had heard great stuff about it.

2.0 5  Trying to like Davana

Davana was one of the oils in my mystery bag this Christmas. I was excited to see I got it in mine after hearing Reatha talk about it on the live shows. But...the smell is just not doing it for me. I can't imagine using it in a perfume. I added it in with some other oils today in a lip balm. So, trying to mix and see if it gets better. I'm glad the description says it's good for skin, so that should give me a way to use it instead of the perfume.

recommend  No, I wouldn't recommend this to a friend.

5.0 5  Davana Essential Oil

The aroma as intense, sweet and fruity, with notes of black currant, raisin, apricot and hay. A very unique aroma. I have Davana essential oil from one other company and it has the same exact aroma as this one. The color and consistency are exactly what they should be like. Davana is not one of those essential oils you get when you are new to oils but with its complex aroma and price tag, this is an essential oil you get when you have knowledge about oils. This wonderful oil has many health benefits. This oil can help you relax which helps with stress, anxiety and depression. It also is antiseptic, antiviral and a disinfectant. This is great for wounds where it keeps them from infection, it also heals wounds quicker. It also has many more wonderful health benefits. If you can read up on this oil and can afford it than get it but for beginners and anyone who cannot afford this oil, there are cheaper essential oils that can do the same thing as this one.

recommend  Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
