Catnip, a member of the mint family, is most famous as a treat for cats to play with, but it also has a long history of traditional herbal use. Keep your outdoor space free of annoyances with Catnip. To support a restful night's sleep, Catnip can be diffused to promote a relaxing atmosphere.
To ease occasional muscular head tension, add a small amount of Catnip Essential Oil to a carrier oil and apply to affected area.

Add equal parts Catnip and Citronella to water or witch hazel to make a spray for an all-natural aid against outdoor annoyances.

For topical application, dilute to 1-3%.

4.0 5  Worked, with limitations

I mixed this into lotion to use as a mosquito repellent. My husband and kids used a different combination of oils. \n\nWe went on a walk through the woods and the others were getting eaten; I wasn\'t. Then, once I started working up a sweat, the mosquitoes found me. I don\'t know if there was something I could have done to prevent that. It seems like it would have worked had I been sitting around, but not for a hike. \n\nOne last note, it is a strong smell. I can tolerate it but I\'ve also nursed four children through various illnesses and changed their diapers so I my standards for disgusting smell may be different from yours. My two older kids left the cabin because they couldn\'t take the smell and my daughter remarked that she was glad she\'d be sitting in the rear of our minivan to be away from the smell. She may be a bit of a drama queen, but consider yourself warned.

5.0 5  Strong but effective

Ok, the scent is a lot to handle. Very strong and earthy...but its amazingly effective as bug repellent. One drop with lavender and rosemary...your good to go!

5.0 5  Insect repellent

I have tried all the other oils that claim to repel mosquitoes but this by far is the best at repelling mosquitoes. Doesn't work for gnats or some other insects but blended with some other oils it works fabulous.
