I researched very carefully, and this is the best value I could find for a nebulizing diffuser. There is a slight noise, but I don't mind it -- it's quieter than a humidifier, for example. I decided to buy this over a model with a built-in timer because it's a much better price. I purchased a separate timer to plug this into from Amazon (Titan Contols Apollo analog timer with 15-minute increments), so by using the separate timer, I keep it in the kids' room when they're sick and have it on low to medium 15 minutes out of every hour. Putting it together was simple -- takes a bit of wiggling to get the plastic tube connected to the pump and the atomizing bottle, but very straightforward. It seems strange that there should be a long tube, with the atomizer being completely separate from the unit, but I'm sure some people might prefer that -- and perhaps it's more economical this way -- but no big deal. It does a great job scenting the air -- within a few seconds of turning it on, you can smell it throughout the room. If it's on the high setting, it will work for an entire floor. I haven't had to clean it yet, since I just got it and haven't had to change my bottle out yet. But this model is much easier to clean than models with glass attachments -- just immerse the atomizer attachment in rubbing alcohol and let it sit a while -- don't think it will be any problem. The freebie that comes with this -- the Plant Therapy Germ Fighter oil -- is perfect, because a nebulizer is the only way (that I know of) to get essential oils (or any medicine) into the lungs in case of a deep infection like bronchitis -- other means of diffusing supposedly don't get the particles small enough. It smells good, and I know it's killing the bacteria in the air and also helping to keep us all healthy. I'm considering buying one for each room. I want to do everything I can to keep my kids from having to take antibiotics again, and I really believe this will help.

The first one of these I got had a short in the cord. Thanks to Plant Therapy's great service I was sent a replacement quickly. The replacement, so far, works great. It's a little noisy if you turn it up high, but for a regular sized room the low setting works very well. I'd read these things really suck up the oil, so I filled the bottle 1/4 with fractionated coconut oil, then put in several drops of essential oil (I'm using the candy cane holiday blend at this moment, yum). It's been going about an hour now and there's still plenty of oil left. Even diluted and on a low setting, the room I'm in is nicely minty. So far I have no complaints about this diffuser.

Out of the box, one use, and it will not stay on. It seems to have a short in the cord, which of course attached and not replaceable. For a little while if I wiggled the cord it would kick back on but now it won't come on at all.
